Better Basics: Knitting SOS with Zoe Thompson and Helen Hall

Ever find yourself at a fork in the road, wishing you knew how to do the next step in your knitting project? Tackle dropped stitches and mysterious holes - learn some tricks and tips for common knitting “SOS moments.” This one day workshop will cover picking up dropped stitches, different cast on and bind off methods, sweater topics, weaving in ends, and the basics of blocking. This class is intended for students with knitting knowledge who are looking to further their skills and tackle stumbling blocks with their projects. No material cost, class will be using scraps to practice techniques, or bring your own project.

Fee: $90, includes materials (fine marino/cashmere blend yarn and circular needle).
Advanced Beginner (must have basic knitting knowledge, how to knit & purl, cast on & off).

 

This is a project class for confident beginners that will cover the basic skills you need to work on more complex projects. During this one day workshop, you will use the Sophie Scarf pattern by Petite Knit to learn how to read a pattern, accurately count and track stitches and rows, increase and decrease for shaping, place and use stitch markers, work an i-cord edge, make stripes if you want to use scrap yarn, weave in ends, and lots more you never knew you needed to know. This project will be started in class, to be completed at home or during our Assisted Open Knitting Studio. 25% cashmere and 75% extra fine merino wool, Cashmere Merino Bloom Yarn and size 4 circular needle included in materials kit.
