This 3-class colored pencil course is designed for artists familiar with basic drawing techniques who want to take their drawing skills to the next level. Over three 3-hour sessions, you will build on foundational techniques, explore advanced texturing methods, and complete a final drawing that showcases your experience. Perfect for artists looking to deepen their understanding of color, blending, and layering with a focus on more realistic and detailed work.

What You'll Learn:

• Layering and blending techniques: Learn how to create rich, complex color layers while maintaining vibrancy and detail.

• Texture Rendering: Learn how to replicate different textures like smooth surfaces, organic shapes, and rough materials using colored pencils.

• Color Theory & Mixing: Gain confidence in selecting colors, controlling temperature, and creating harmonious palettes.

• Advanced Detailing: Enhance your artwork with realistic highlights, subtle gradients, and small, intricate details.

• Finishing Techniques: Learn how to refine and polish your piece to a professional standard.

Materials:

• Colored pencils 

• Blending tools (paper stumps, tortillons, or a soft cloth)

• Smooth or lightly textured drawing paper – any sketchbook is fine

• Pencil sharpener and eraser
