Altered Prints Workshop with Jennifer Burkin

Fee: $80 for 4 hour workshop, includes materials

This is a fun half-day workshop for adults with little to no experience with printmaking. Participants will begin by sketching a simple image either at the beginning of class or one can come with something
prepared with a pencil. The instructor will demonstrate how to transfer an image onto a soft, rubbery plate and carve the image into the plate. The plates will be rolled with water-based ink and may be hand printed on a variety of papers such as pages from old books, telephone books, handmade papers, etc. Once the initial print is made the real fun begins as people can alter their prints with a variety of materials including paint, pencils, markers, collage materials, etc. Bring your imagination and sense of play!
