Fee: $275 for 2 day workshop + $50 optional materials fee (or bring your own/purchase your own from Lily's materials list page).

This course is for two types of people: One, anyone who has ever wanted to learn oil painting–whether you are a complete beginner to painting itself, or maybe you have worked with acrylic, watercolor, or just been devoted to your sketchbook. Maybe you have been curious about oil, but thought it was too toxic, too advanced, or too complicated to attempt. If that sounds familiar, then this weekend course is for you! I love to debunk these popular oil painting myths, and show that painting with oil can be simple, non-toxic, and accessible to everyone. The second person this class is for is anyone who loves oil painting and Martha’s Vineyard, who wants to come create an oil painting start to finish in a beautiful place.
In this two-day course, we will go start to finish over my own oil painting process. Beginning with a site visit in a beautiful Vineyard location – I’m thinking either Chappy or Long Point – we will go over how I take photos with a painting in mind. Upon our return to the studio I will show you how I edit these photos to make them into the best possible reference for a painting. We will then prep our canvases, choose our palette colors, and get started. 
Materials will be provided. Oil painting kits will also be available to purchase if you’d like to take one home.
