Come warm up with us during this two part introduction to Kiln Formed Glass taught by Wil Sideman. This course will offer students the opportunity to investigate and explore basic “Warm Glass” techniques. Warm Glass refers to glass fused, slumped and shaped using patterns and molds within a kiln. Over the course of two sessions students will start by learning to cut, carve and layer colored glasses, once finished
these patterns will be placed into the kiln and fused into a unique custom tile. Once this patterned tile is fused together students will adjust, clean and than slump the glass into a small mold creating basic tableware, dishes, bowls and plates. Depending on the size and complexity of design students can expect to leave this course with 1 small dish and the basic knowledge necessary to explore glass forming with electric kilns.

Students must wear closed toe shoes and natural fiber based clothing (No wind-breakers or polyester).
Safety Glasses are provided in the studio but are required to be worn the entire time students are within
The Featherstone Facility.
